Keepio is preparing to launch. Right now this site only collects an email address (and an optional first name) so we can tell you when early access opens. The full policy below also covers how the Keepio app will handle your data once it is live.
Who we are
Keepio (“Keepio”, “we”, “us”) is a personal finance app based in Belgium. We are the data controller for your personal data. You can reach us at hello@keepio.app.
What data we collect
- Early-access data: your email address and, optionally, your first name, when you join the waitlist on this site.
- Account data: email address, language preference, and your answers to the onboarding questions (expat status, main money concern, income range).
- Bank transaction data: when you connect a bank account, we receive your transaction history (date, merchant, amount) for up to 90 days, through our regulated open banking provider GoCardless. Access is read-only. We never see or store your bank login credentials.
- Documents you upload: bank statements or receipts you choose to upload or photograph.
- Usage data: how you use the app, and crash reports, to keep Keepio reliable.
- Subscription data: your payment tier, managed through the Apple App Store and Google Play. We do not store your full card details.
Why we process your data (legal basis)
- To notify you about early access — your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- To provide the service (analyse your spending and find savings) — performance of a contract.
- To process your bank data — your explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- To process your data with AI — your explicit consent.
- To improve the app via analytics — your consent.
How we use AI
We use Anthropic’s Claude AI to categorise transactions and generate savings recommendations. Before sending data to the AI, we pseudonymise it: we remove your name, account numbers, and other direct identifiers. The AI receives only aggregated, anonymised spending information. Anthropic does not train its models on your data.
Who we share data with
We share data only with service providers strictly necessary to run Keepio — our open banking provider (GoCardless), secure EU data hosting, AI processing (pseudonymised), subscription billing, and analytics, error tracking and email delivery.
We never sell your data. We never share it with advertisers.
Where your data is stored
All personal data is stored within the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany).
How long we keep your data
We keep your data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete all your personal data within 30 days. Bank account access expires automatically after 90 days unless you reconnect. If you only joined the waitlist, you can unsubscribe at any time and we will remove your email.
Your rights (GDPR)
You have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, export it, restrict processing, and withdraw consent. Inside the app you can export or delete your data directly (Settings → Privacy & Data). You can also lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit / Autorité de protection des données).
Security
We use encryption in transit and at rest, row-level access isolation, and never store bank credentials. No system is perfectly secure, but we follow industry best practices.
Children
Keepio is not intended for anyone under 18.
Changes
We may update this policy. We will notify you of material changes in the app or by email.
